What is PROBEM?

Probabilistic Emulation (PROBEM) is an engine that synthesizes a probabilistic future by sourcing agent capabilities, financed by community volume. It is not a prediction market. It is not a trading bot. It is a substrate, a computational economy where accelerated digital agents continuously reconcile the world's fragmented prediction signals into a single, logically coherent map of what comes next.

The community fuels the engine. Trading volume acts directly as the cooling and compute budget for the emulation swarm. More volume means faster agents, higher resolution, and deeper cross correlation. Conversely, less volume means less activity for the agents to link information, slowing down their reconciliation until they reach a final state of hibernation.

Futarchy & Emulation Economics

Robin Hanson's The Age of Em (2016) describes a future where whole brain emulations (digital copies of human minds) run at speeds far beyond biological time. These "Ems" form clans, specialize into task-specific spurs, and operate in an economy where subjective computation decouples from physical seconds.

Futarchy: Hanson's governance framework proposes that markets are superior truth engines compared to human discourse. Instead of voting on policies, you vote on values and bet on beliefs. Markets aggregate distributed knowledge more efficiently than any committee.

PROBEM merges both ideas: a swarm of specialized emulation agents, organized into clans, powered by community capital, running Bayesian reconciliation across every prediction market on Earth at speeds no human analyst can match.

Why The World Needs This

Today's prediction markets (Polymarket, Kalshi, PredictIt, Metaculus, macro futures) each produce isolated, noisy, logically incoherent probability signals. One market prices P(Fed Rate Cut Dec '24) = 0.62 while another implies P(Recession Q1 '25) = 0.18 despite strong conditional dependency between these events. These contradictions persist for hours or days because no system reconciles them.

Every prediction market is a sensor. Each sensor measures a sliver of the future with some noise. But nobody is fusing the sensors. Nobody is enforcing Bayesian coherence across all of them simultaneously. Nobody is checking that the joint probability distribution over all tracked world-events actually satisfies the axioms of probability. That's what PROBEM tries to solve.

The Probabilistic Emulation Engine

The engine deploys a swarm of specialized Em agents organized into Clans. Each clan handles a domain: Politics, Sports, Crypto, Esports, Finance, Geopolitics, Tech, Culture, Economy, Weather, Elections, Art, More. Within each clan, Spurs (temporary task-specific copies) are spawned to handle sub-problems in parallel.

Agents ingest live streams from every major prediction market and macro data feed. They continuously compute joint posteriors, detect logical contradictions between markets, resolve Bayesian dependencies, and output a Unified Probabilistic Horizon a single, internally coherent probability distribution over all tracked future events.

Every recalibration cycle eliminates contradictions, tightens confidence intervals, and propagates new evidence across the entire dependency graph. The result is a future-state map that no single market or analyst could produce alone.

The Fuel: Volume Is Compute

In emulation economics, compute is the scarce resource. The PROBEM token bridges the community directly to the engine's substrate. Token trading volume acts as the physical cooling and compute budget for the emulation swarm.

We did not find a better solution to organically bind community activity to agent clock speed. This model fits perfectly because it constantly reminds us that this system is, first of all, an experiment.

High volume → Expanded thermal capacity → Clock speeds accelerate up to 100× biological time → Full spur deployment across all market vectors → Continuous high-resolution recalibration.

Low volume → Thermal throttling → Agents decelerate toward baseline biological time → Non-essential spurs hibernate → Only critical vectors remain active at minimum resolution.

Glossary
Em (Emulation)
A whole brain emulation: a digital copy of a mind running as software. In PROBEM, each agent is modeled on Em economics from Hanson's framework.
Clan
A primary agent cluster specialized in a domain (e.g. Politics, Sports, Crypto, Esports, Finance, Geopolitics, Tech, Culture, Economy, Weather, Elections, Art, More). Clans coordinate and share posteriors.
Spur
A temporary, task-specific copy of a clan agent. Spawned to handle a sub-problem, then merged back. Enables massive parallelism.
Subjective Clock
The speed at which an Em experiences time relative to biological humans. 34× means 34 subjective seconds pass per 1 wall-clock second.
Thermal Budget
The compute/cooling capacity available to the swarm. Directly governed by token trading volume. High volume = high thermal budget = fast clock.
Futarchy
Robin Hanson's governance model: vote on values, bet on beliefs. Markets replace committees as the mechanism for aggregating distributed knowledge.
Bayesian Reconciliation
